Hi everyone! I’m back from my Prague trip and I’ve got a new recipe video up for you! In my video I show you how to make an absolutely delicious chocolate smoothie packed with superfoods and berries. It’s perfect as breakfast, a healthy snack or even dessert! You can satisfy your sweet cravings with this smoothie without feeling guilty, as it’s really good for you since it’s loaded with so many health benefits and antioxidants. There are actually four kinds of berries in it: blueberries, blackberries, dried mulberries and acai berry which in addition to being very nutritious for you, also gives this smoothie a beautiful balance of sweetness and depth. There’s over 1 1/4 cup of berries packed into 1 large glass of this smoothie! There are also additional superfoods in this smoothie, such as various kinds of seeds and cacao nibs.
Now I understand that not everyone has superfoods in their pantry, which is why this smoothie is really versatile and also tastes amazing without all of these superfoods. You can for example make it with only blueberries (and preferably blackberries), almond milk and cacao powder. You can also substitute the almond milk with another kind of vegan milk, but I think almond milk is perfect in this smoothie! It’s best to use unsweetened almond milk, but if you can’t, then just leave out the mulberries. You can also substitute the mulberries with other dried sweet fruit such as dates, sultanas, cranberries, currants, figs or a sweetener of your choice like agave, maple syrup or xylitol. I like more of a subtle chocolate flavour but if you want it more chocolatey and dessert-like, then just increase the cacao powder from 1 1/2 tablespoons to 2 tablespoons.
